Millet Mission will increase the income of farmers

In the Global Shree Anna Sammelan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told that Millets have been identified under the One District One Product Scheme. Now the sale of millet has increased by 30 percent. To encourage this, millet cafes are being seen across the country.

Addressing the Global Millets (Shri Anna) conference, PM Modi also said that Shri Anna is solving almost every kind of problem. It is very easy to grow them, because it does not cost much to grow millets and they also get ready after ripening faster than other crops.

They don’t have to spend much on their harvesting and storage. This is a low cost crop, which will prove beneficial for the farmers.

Shree Anna is beneficial for health

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Said that Shree Anna is not only the basis of chemical-free farming, it is also helpful in dealing with the challenges of climate change. Millets can improve food security as well as dietary habits.

On the other hand, the Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar told in his address that almost all essential nutrients are supplied to the human body by the consumption of Millets (Shri Anna) based products. Nutritional deficiency can be overcome by this

2.5 crore farmers get direct benefit from Shree Anna

Addressing the Global Shree Anna Conference, PM Modi told that majority of the population of Shree Anna farmers in India are small farmers and 2.5 crore farmers are directly involved in the production of coarse grains in the country. India is also making all efforts to promote Shree Anna at the global level.

The good thing is that coarse grains can be grown easily without adverse climatic conditions and chemical fertilizers and pesticides. This will benefit those 2.5 crore small farmers who are associated with the Millet Mission.
