Australian captain Steve Smith did not delay at all in deciding to bowl first after winning the toss in this match. After this, captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli together brought the score to 32 runs.

In this match, where Mitchell Starc took 5 wickets for Australia, Sean Abbott took 3 wickets while Nathan Ellis took 2 wickets.
