The journey of Chardham Yatra became expensive, there was a huge increase in the fare of helicopter

Chardham Yatra 2023: Chardham Yatra 2023 is starting from 22nd April next month. Regarding this, the government and the administration have tightened their gear regarding the preparations. Last year, the Chardham Yatra broke many records and made new records, considering that the government believes that more pilgrims will come for the Chardham Yatra this year than last year. This time during the Chardham Yatra, the journey to Kedarnath Dham has become expensive through heli service. Heli companies have increased the fare after three years. Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) has selected four companies from Sirsi and Phata to operate the heli service.

70 percent tickets for Kedarnath Dham are booked online, while 30 percent tickets are given through heli companies. Heli service is operated for Kedarnath Dham from Guptkashi, Sirsi, Phata. In 2020, Yukada signed contracts with nine companies to operate the heli service. After the contract expires in 2022, this time UCADA has started the tender process to select the heli companies afresh. Heli operations have been awarded to four companies from Phata and Sirsi helipads. In this, heli service will be operated from Phata to Pawan Hans, Catral Aviation and from Sirsi through Himalayan Heli, Catral Aviation.

The fare for the heli service from Phata to Kedarnath Dham has been fixed at Rs 5500 per passenger and Rs 5498 from Sirsi to Kedarnath. Earlier one had to pay Rs 4680 from Sirsi and Rs 4720 from Phata. Compared to last year, there has been an increase of Rs 780 per passenger from Phata and Rs 818 from Sirsi. The tendering process is going on again for the heli service to be operated from Guptkashi to Kedarnath Dham. In the past tender was filled from only one company, due to which Yukada has invited tenders from Heli companies for the second time.

IRCTC will be tied up for booking tickets for heli services. The process is going on for this. If the MOU is delayed till the commencement of the journey, in such a situation booking of tickets will be done through ucada. Booking of tickets for Kedarnath heli service can start from the first week of April.
